A Two-Day NYC Itinerary Fueled by Food & Mini Print Machines

I am currently sitting in one of my favorite Portland coffee shops, writing a blog about mini print machines. Honestly, what could make a better Sunday morning? If you’re wondering, I’m at Salt Yard Café + Bar in Portland, Maine—one of my absolute favorites in the city.

Salt yard latte and a side of chocolate lab. Perfect! His name is Dixon

What’s better than a Salt Yard latte and a lemon berry yogurt bowl?

While @Flicks_withNick is deep into writing about all the movies coming out in 2026, I’m here thinking about our last trip to New York City. For the past few years, we’ve spent my birthday in NYC every December. It’s one of my favorite places in the world, and I truly can’t imagine a better way to celebrate.

This year, we went in with one clear priority: all the mini print machines.

I started collecting them last year, and I am officially hooked. They’re genuinely one of my favorite things—tiny, thoughtful souvenirs that actually mean something. I’ve started putting together collages above our coffee bar at home, and I love how they turned out.

Yes that’s a different dog than the previous photo! We are crazy dog lovers who babysit all our friends dogs! His name is Kash!

So let’s talk about a two-day NYC itinerary filled with good food, great drinks, and as many mini prints as possible.

How We Got There

We took the train from Boston to New York for the first time, and it was so easy and affordable. The ride took about four hours and dropped us right at Penn Station. For a weekend trip, we would absolutely recommend this method of travel.

Where We Stayed

We usually stay in New Jersey because it’s more affordable, but this time we had hotel points to use. We stayed at the Hilton Fashion District, which was centrally located, clean, and comfortable. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

Day One: Manhattan → Brooklyn

🌅 Morning Treats

We started the day with coffee and pastries—non-negotiable.

Caffé Paradiso
☕ Salted brown butter & oat latte

Dominique Ansel Bakery
🥐 Cronuts

From here, walk the Brooklyn Bridge, soaking in skyline views as you head into Manhattan. This sets the tone for a day that’s all about walking, wandering, and discovering.
