The Ultimate guide to planning a bachelorette/bachelor party in Nashville

hello from Anchorage, Alaska!

We are truly thriving in Anchorage, and loving it here. I honestly can’t believe it’s coming to an end. My last shift in Anchorage is April 2, and we leave for Boston on April 3. Feels like we just got here. We have done so many cool things, and I can’t wait to give all the suggestions of things to do in Alaska in the winter.

My husband and I’s first trip together was to Nashville/Memphis in 2019. It was such a great trip. We had so much fun, and did a lot of exploring. We got married in October 2021. It feels crazy, and it just feels like yesterday.  When we got engaged, we started talking about a bachelorette/bachelor party. We ultimately decided to do a combination bachelorette/bachelor party, as we had a lot of couple friends. The location was easy, as we really enjoyed Nashville last time, and I actually worked there for my nurse residency program. After we decided, it was time for planning!

Let’s go girls (and boys), let’s start planning!

Pull up a chair, get your cowgirl boots ready, and let’s plan this thing! I just want to first talk about why Nashville is an ultimate destination for a bachelor or bachelorette party. There’s a reason that it’s a hot spot  and I can’t wait to tell you why. Your weekend in Nashville will be filled with incredible food, dancing, and good music.

Nightlife

There’s a reason Nashville is known as a Bachelor/bachelorette hotspot. They have the best nightlife, with bars and restaurants that are open late. You’ll never have a dull time there! Did I mention rooftop bars too?

Food

Calling all my foodies! There is always something for everyone. Nashville is filled the best hot chicken, BBQ, and unique restaurants.

Art

Nashville is filled with little pieces of artwork/murals throughout the city.  I explored the mural part of town with my girls and really enjoyed it! Check out some of the best murals!

Music

Walk down Broadway and midtown and enjoy all the live music. It’s one of the best things about Nashville.

Where to stay? What section of Nashville?

Choosing a place to stay in Nashville can be pretty stressful. There are a lot of different hotels, VRBO’s, and Airbnb’s. The first step is to figure out how many people are attending. After you figure out the number, figure out the number of beds. After figuring out those details, you can start searching for different options. Let’s start breaking down a few of the popular sections of Nashville.

Germantown

Germantown is a charming area known for its history. This is a relaxing part of town.

The Gulch

If you want to be near downtown, and the craziness, but not stay in the middle of downtown, I’d recommend finding a place in the Gluch.

12 South

This part of town is definitely busy. If you want a busy area, this section of Nashville is for you.

East Nashville

This is the artsy part of Nashville .They have a lot of great restaurants and artwork around this area of Nashville. This is definitely a more relaxed area. They have a lot of cute airbnb’s!

Downtown

This will be the busiest of the busy. Convenient when you are trying to go downtown in the evening, but know it’s going to be a crazy town day and night. It all depends on the vibe you are looking for.

What kind of place?

Hotels

There are so many different hotels in Nashville. I just touched on a few popular sections of Nashville that contain some of the best hotels. When we went for our bachelorette/bachelor party, and when we visited, we stayed in AirBnB’s rather than hotels. If you are looking for hotel suggestions, I can connect you with some friends that live in Nashville!

Airbnb’
s/VRBO’s

Nashville has some of the best Airbnb’s/VRBO’s, that accommodate a lot of people. We decided to go this route for our BACH party because we wanted to all stay together. The house we stayed at was awesome. We had a large group of friends attending, 12 people that stayed in the airbnb. My sister and brother in law stayed in a hotel nearby. The house we rented had 11 beds, which worked out great for everyone. It was aesthetically beautiful, along with having a rooftop to hang out in and also in a great location to downtown and midtown. I highly recommend this airbnb to anyone that has a large group!

If this airbnb isn’t available during your stay, have no worries, there’s so many good ones to choose from on airbnb/vrbo. Good decorations also make such a difference! Check out a few other airbnb’s that are recommended in Nashville.

Shout out to my friends who did such a great job!

Places to Eat and Drink

One of the best things about Nashville is the food scene. There are so many good places to check out, but these are some of the most popular places. I included a few places that we did not go to on our bach trip.

Brunch:

Biscuit Love*, Pancake Pantry*, LA Jackson

Lunch:

Hattie B’s*, Prince’s hot chicken, The Pharmacy

Bars: City Winery, Diskin Cider, Pinewood Social, The Stage, Jason Aldeans, Luke Bryans, Wildhorse Salon (line dancing lessons!), Florida Georgia line, Beercade, Winners,  Arrington Vineyards, and Losers. (Honestly these were all our favorites!*)

*favorite

If you are going with a large group, I really would recommend reservations any day of the week if possible. If not, you are most likely going to be waiting for a long time. Some of the places I included have a rooftop which is super nice!  I also included some places that have “activities”, for example pinewood social has a bowling alley and a dipping pool. If anyone wants to know, you can swim in it… Not recommended, but my brother did before dinner. He dried off with paper towels. If you want something, you want something.

Activities

There’s so much to do in Nashville. Honestly, I could come up with a week’s worth of activities on the spot. I’m not going to torture you with them all! Here are some great ideas and there’s going to be more in the possible itinerary.

Pontoon boat

During our bachelorette/bachelor party, we used pontoon salon. This particular pontoon boat goes downtown on the river. The drinking, music, and scenery makes for a good party vibe. These pontoon boats can hold up to 16 people on a public tour. They also offer private pontoon boats.  I’ve also rented a pontoon in Nashville during my residency on the Old Hickory lake. Typically, these are boats you drive yourself. We decided against this option because we wanted a captain!

Sorry mom!

Pedal tavern

Who doesn’t love a good pedal tavern around Nashville? We had so much fun doing this, even my very fun pregnant sister in law! You can choose between a midtown or downtown tour (They are both awesome, I probably would recommend downtown if you are doing it for a bach). They don’t serve drinks during the pedal tavern, it’s BYOB. They make several stops at bars along the way and give a discount! If you don’t book the whole pedal tavern, you may have some new friends join your group (which is truly a fun experience!)

I would love to give you a great photo on the pedal tavern. We got one that evening, but not even on the bike. Having too much fun without the camera.

For more information on the pedal tavern, check out their website:Nashville Pedal Tavern: Premier Party Bike in Nashville

Winery Tour

My lovely maid of honour planned my girls day on our trip. We went to Arrington vineyards for a wine tour, and had some snacks. It was so great sitting at a picnic table drinking wine outside with friends. Highly recommend this place. My only con is that it’s a little bit of a drive to get there. It takes about 35 minutes. Another great wine tasting place is the city winery. I haven’t been to this one, but have heard a lot of good things!

Gulch Art Walk

The Gulch art walk has my heart. I absolutely love exploring that part of town looking at the artwork with my frothy monkey coffee. 10/10 recommendation. Also, they have a new tour offering a “mimosas and murals party bus tour”. This is a two hour tour on a party bus with BYOB to explore the Nashville Murals. The guide will assist you with picture taking! If you are interested in this tour, check out let’s bach experiences on google.

This was February 2018 when my maid of honour visited me in Nashville. I was living and working in Nashville at the time!

 Country music hall of fame

Do you need a relaxing activity during the day before the party starts? The country music hall of fame is a great museum for all country lovers.

Explore the Grand Ole Opry Hotel

This hotel is absolutely amazing inside. It has beautiful scenery and restaurants to catch a bite to eat.

Exploring the honky tonks/ listening to live music

Who doesn’t love a cold drink and some live country music?

The best bachelorette/Bachelor Crew. There’s a few people in the back having too good of a time for a smile!

Nightlife

The nightlife in Nashville is fantastic. Whether your group is into a honky tonk live bar or a rooftop. Checkout the Places to eat and drink section for ideas of where to go. If your group isn’t into the party scene, check out bluebird cafe for some local music and food/drinks. Of course you can finish your evening with a pedal tavern or bowling at pinewood social. You don’t have to worry, there will always be something to do in Nashville!
