Hello friends, fellow bloggers, fellow travelers, and just my friendly readers!
I cannot believe the 13 weeks are done in Everett, Washington, and I can’t wait to bring you with us to our next road trip.
First off, let’s just do a little recap in case we have some new readers here. My husband and I started travel nursing a year ago in January 2022. I was very burnt out from COVID, and needed a change of scenery. I remember telling my coworker at the time that I was going to quit my stable full time job to travel nurse. She didn’t actually believe that I was actually going to do it, until I signed the contract 55 hours away. Hey, if I’m going to do it… I’m really gonna do it. The house market in Portland, Maine was not feasible, and we were newly married. We started our journey with the intent of traveling for a year and then settling down. Well… it’s a year and a half later and here we are still travel nursing. Perspectives have changed and our happiness continues to grow. My husband works from home and this continues to work for us.
During our last road trip, we started a thing where we shared a fact about ourselves everyday during our journey. I thought this was something interesting and plan to continue this throughout our journey. Does anyone know where our final destination is? If you are friends with us on social media (Instagram:travelingbeebryantRN), then you already know! If not, let’s let the sharing and driving begin!
Nick: I’m addicted to tv, movies, random movie clips, and movie quotes. It’s become a problem, so I decided to share this problem with the world. I started Flicks with Nick this past month as an outlet to this obsession, and hobby. I’ve really enjoyed it and really appreciate my wife, as I’m not as good with doing the technology/social media stuff.

Dominique: Travel nursing has so many positives, but it also comes with some cons. The cons of not seeing your friends, and family as often. Sometimes if you are lucky, you meet some friends along the way during your assignment (Hi Tori, Brad, Abbie, Hana, Lexie, and all my nursing loves). Sometimes you are lucky and have family nearby, but sometimes family is far. Therefore, days off are spent exploring on your own (as your partner works the normal 9-5 shift), and being content with silence. Other travel nurses and I have discussed that the time that you do spend with your friends and family is more cherished, as you don’t see them as often. Although, when you go to work, you may feel “overstimulated”, as you don’t have as much stimuli when you are off. Other travelers or people that work from home, what do you think?

Today we started our drive to our next destination. Our first stop on our road trip is where our travel nursing all began, Spokane, Washington. We have a special love for Spokane. We did so much hiking, brewery tasting, and dog walking… yes, we walked lots of dogs. Nick and I did rover in our free time and loved it. It wasn’t as big in Oregon, North Carolina, and New Jersey, so we haven’t done it since. I am hoping our new destination has rover clients, because I really miss it! We just arrived in Spokane, and we made it just in time for dinner at our favorite pizza place, The Flying goat. Check it out if you are Spokane Washington.

Tomorrow is our longest drive and I can’t wait to start digging into some of our favorite places at our last assignment.
