The Final Destination

Our interesting fact will be related to travel activities. Nick and I were discussing our favorite activity we’ve done during travel nursing. We actually agreed and said our favorite activity was Badlands National park.

Last night was the first night of this cross country trip, we were actually able to relax. We spent the night in Boise, Idaho. We got to Boise at five pm last night. Nick and I got to each pick an activity in Boise before hanging out in the hot tub. We went to check out my activity first. We first went to check out Freak Alley Gallery in Boise. This was something I was really looking forward to. It’s an unique art gallery frequently changing in Boise. This was created in 2002 and continues to become one of Boises favorite things to do.  Check out Nick and Is favorite murals.

After murals, Nick was ready for his activity. He always finds these cool spots for dinner. We went to Boise Fry Company. I mean how do we come to Idaho, and not eat a potato? You choose between five potatoes, have 12 different dipping sauces, and 10 different seasonings. It was an interesting concept, and it made you get so creative.  We tried gold and purple fries.

Today we traveled to our final destination, Eugene, Oregon. I took a travel nurse assignment in Springfield, Oregon, but will be living in Eugene.

We didn’t make a ton of stops throughout the day because we wanted to make it at a reasonable time to move into our new apartment! We started making our bucket list for Oregon. We do this for every assignment. Today we checked off two things in the list. Let me just tell you, my husband’s day was made. We went through memory lane with the first one. Does anyone have their blockbuster card?!

We visited the last blockbuster in the United States in Bend, OR. My husband is an ultimate movie nerd, so this was on his Oregon to do list. It was pretty cool, and he got to buy a dvd. The real question is, did you rewind?

We also stopped at the Simpsons mural in Springfield. I can’t even tell you how much I HATE The Simpsons. Nick loves the Simpsons, so this was needed.

Lastly, we drove by the hospital I’ll be working at. It’s good to see our new home for 12 weeks. It’s also a lot warmer here than it was back home. I also hear NH and Maine are going to be -15 on Saturday… YIKES! I’ll keep the 50 degrees. Sorry guys! We had some good scenery on our drive today.

We made it! 50 hours cross country and we’ve made it to our new home for 12 weeks. Check out my upcoming blog about our new apartment and our first weekend in Eugene.
