I’m coming back for you Utah!

Hi friends! Today was a better drive. We went from Provo, Utah to Boise Idaho. It was a shorter drive (much shorter than yesterday lol), so we were able to enjoy Salt Lake City and even Boise this evening.

First let’s start with our interesting facts of the day. Nick would like to start with telling our little “dispute” at Theodore National Park in North Dakota. This was on our way to our first travel assignment in Washington. We went back and forth if an animal was a deer or an elk. I really didn’t believe my husband, and I thought this animal was an elk. He said it was too small to be an elk, and was a deer. Fast forward six hours later, we were driving through Montana that night and Nick almost hit a family of Elk at 80 mph. He luckily stopped in time and we both stared at each other and said, “now that’s an elk”. I couldn’t believe how big it was.

To go off Nick’s story, my goal was to see Bison and buffalo at these national parks.  I didn’t see Bison until our trip to in Badlands National Park in South Dakota. Today we saw so many bison in Utah. I think they are the coolest animals. My friend Daisy described Salt Lake City like Disney. I think that was the best comparison. It was so magical and beautiful. Utah I’m coming back for you. We have visited 36 states together, today made 37. Utah was a new one!

We started our day at a local spot for breakfast. We checked out the Park Cafe in Salt Lake City. Honestly even if the food sucked, the service was just so good. We decided to go with this place because it was a local spot and it was in a good location to the other spot we wanted to check out this morning. It had side street parking, which works when you have a topper!

We headed over to one of the top tourist spots in Salt Lake City, the Temple. This church was beautiful and we really enjoyed the architecture.

We ended our adventure in Utah at Antelope Island. We wanted to find a place to check out the lake a little more. Let me just tell you… this was so worth it!! I love you Utah. I was interested in how they do a bison roundup. Check it out on their state park website. It’s so interesting. The views alone will have me back.

PURE HAPPINESS. DAY MADE.

We have made it to Boise, Idaho. Time for some potatoes and murals. Tomorrow is our last day of driving. I can’t believe this is coming to an end.
